GA61xx - You've got me excited now. The pattern on the nissan brake bracket appears to be quite similar to that of the disk brake T series. Could you measure the spacing between the bolt holes when you have a chance?

    Regards,
    Chris

Yeah, I got the axles, housing, and an LSD centre pretty cheap, so I'm just looking around for brake alternatives. I was having a look on Yahoo auctions recently and the brake backing plates were relatively cheap, so I will probably source a set that way. I keep looking in NZ for MA45s, but haven't had much success.

My other thought was redrilling a set from a xT14x corona - but I'm unsure of whether this will work or if this opens up strength issues. I'll probably look into it when I've got more time - currently building a megasquirt and moving house to Brissy!

heres the brackets i finished making up today

they are to suit a hyundia sonata v6 caliper over a skyline c210 disk

the holes are in the right place ignore the outter lines they are just a guide

the calipers are integrated hand brake and have quite a large pad area they do however need to be spaced out from the diff flange by 13mm but thats easy enough, or you could use the hyundia sonata disk (i used skyline due to wheel clearance issues) and not have to space the bracket out

i have the .dwg file if anyone wants it

Skiddz - 3 mounting points to the axle housing - strong enough? What material did you use?

to answer the "any brake upgrade for T series disk diff" Q.
yes there is a bolt on upgrade. using jdm ma45 disk setup which is 10" solid disks. these have same unequal spaced bolts on the end of the housing unlike the drum T series.. need to use caliper mount, disk and caliper as they vary from the ae86/te71 disk setup.
the same 10" brakes are found on jdm ra45 GT (f series disk) or rt132 2000GT corona (f series disk). have also seen jdm tt132 (3teu T292) with disk brake T series tho forgot to check if they had 9 or 10" disks.
i would assume that the usa spec ma46 has the same disk setup.. i know as much that they're F series and have 10" disks.
none of these a borg warner.. all are jdm live axle so good luck finding some

the jdm rt132GT F series and jdm ma45 t series measure up the same for mounts etc so should bolt across between em. te71/ae86 mounts, panhard-rod mount and spring perch are different to the corona and celica diffs. corona and celica diffs were also 1415mm disk-to-disk vs 1400mm for te71/ae86.
probly useless information to an aussie.. but interesting none the less
