    I've got some pics.

finally some good ones of Nathan's car on track too

    Will get them up soon

... I should have taken a picture of Garth's sunburn though

EDIT: also cheers to Nathan for 2 attempted drives in the GT4... first time it was boot cutting after a warm up lap and the second time was the end of the day track running at 3:55 after a war up lap and a brisker lap to get to know the car a bit more... Just as Nathan pulled out the stopwatch too... The car feels so much different to drive than anything else I've driven. Was good fun.

I had a good first session but I came in the swap the front wheels around as the front left tyre was shagged and then realised in my fluey haze I'd driven off with the locknut still in the wheel and lost it. So that was my day done but I hung around for a while to watch everyone before loading the Soarer on the trailer to drop off in Queanbeyan for the turbo project so I've got a month or 2 to track down a Rays lock nut.

Garth took about 45 mins of video which I'm getting off the camera now. I'll let you know when it's on YouTube.

Great to catch up with/meet you guys. Mos, after I'd left I thought I should have come for a run with you to see how your beast goes but there's always next time!

My best for the day was a 1:19.0, probably not too bad for 2nd time out but I had hopes of being well into the 18s. I think i was completely over driving the car.

I finally got the car set up with some camber but I'm not sure of the results. It felt completely different to last time and didn't seem to have the same corner grip as Nathan's gt4. If I had been thinking clearer on the day I should have tried a few different things. I should have got some more sleep throughout the week.

My tyres were also completely shagged after 4-5 runs on the day, so it is finally time to ditch them and buy some decent rubber. Hopefully this will give me some consistency to then be able to learn to drive this car.

Ben, whilst 1:19 was your best, i am sure you were heading for something near a low 1:18/high 1:17 before you bungled the last corner up

and it is easy to overdrive the GT4's, with the understeer you need a very soft smooth touch, which is hard to get yourself to do when you are fanging it around the track!

There were a few points like the kink onto that back straight, I didn't feel confident to hold it flat through there all day, where as last time I had no problems. It seemed like this time when ever I did push it though the corner I would end up skipping across the road, and it seemed a little disconcerting. I probably have too much mechanical sympathy.

One nice lesson from the day was having the drive of the gt4's, being able to get on the throttle early and almost keep up with that skyline down the main straight was a nice feeling until I braked too late and shot off into the sand trap at the end.

I think it will be good to get some rubber which will allow me to circulate longer so I can follow a few people round and learn from them.

Personally semi slicks are probably the minimum. Not sure how well "really" expensive road tyres hold up, but all the road tyres in a reasonable price range just don't hold up to the heat...

I had a decent day with some rather shocking newbie mistakes. A 4 year break really brings you back down to the start hehe
On the plus side puddling along in 4th gear is about as fast as the sprinter was full out

    Mos.
I'm Pretty sure that is the way I'll be going.

The tyres that I have are the ones that came with the rims, bridgestone turenzas, which are defiantly more at home on a family road car.

That XY falcon sounds tough and was pulling some huge revs, but the video just doesn't do it justice. I noticed in that last flyby that it looked to be leaving a slight trail of oil while chasing the GTRs, must be the beginnings of the haemorrage that brought a very expensive end to a brand new engine soon after i took that video.
