Brakes are bled, fluids topped up... I'm good to go
I should have some swaybars coming late this week, so I may even have some time to get them installed as well, if not... well there's Thursday night isn't there![]()
New tyres on, new TRD 1.5 way installed, my spare set of hubs turned up from Melboune on Friday so now the race is on to see if I can get the brakes done in time....

I haven't done anything yet, don't even have a water temp gauge - reckon I'll melt something?

Crap I have a heap to do.....!
I am not worrying about changing the wheelstuds on the rears. They tighten about 10 revolutions or so. That should be suffice???
Now to formulate a to DO list......
busy busy busy tomorrow....
Wish I had a dremel tool as well !
would make life a hell easier...
Dunno if I am bothered changing the CAS oil ring.
Do you have an oil cooler? Without one mine got over 120 degrees in about 3-4 laps at Wakefield. 28 row Earls cooler fixed that.Originally Posted by Mos

Drags are not brutal in terms of heat soak - sure they're brutal on many components, but you only have full power for maybe 20 seconds at most (including burnout). Track racing will find other weaknessesOriginally Posted by 7MA61

You'll be right - just stick to 4 laps then take a break. There'll be plenty of tracktime anyway.
Well, my car is doing it's best to stuff up my chances of making it down on Friday. So far I'm not letting it win, but it's trying hard.....
On Friday the wastegate developed a leak by blowing one of the gaskets out the side. Got new gaskets and spent 7 hours last night pulling the whole turbo, wastegate and dump off to change it. Had to re-tap the threads in the flange to get it back together, but finally it was all back together.
Today the starter motor shat itself and suddenly became engaged on the M2 at 110. Horrible noise and a shit load of disgusting smelling electrical component smoke, so I wrote the rest of the work day off and spent a couple of hours swapping in a new one this arvo.
Everything is working now, but what's next? Seems my dyno day curse is starting to extend to other events....![]()
