1jz hydro fan setup question

Hey all, since the weather is starting to warm up i thought it would be a good idea to chase this up. Since installing the 1j into my mx73 i have never set up the Hydro fan, its been un plugged the whole time. I Know they use a little seperate control box but i dont have that. Does the solinoid need to have 12v to get full power to the fan or does it slow the fan down when power is applied?
Im thinking of setting the solinoid up to run through a relay and a normal electric fan thermo switch any ideas on this?

from memory, factory wiring, without the hydro fan makes it run full bore, so id say it cops full power, then the computer makes its adjustments from there.

spend some time going over the JZA70 diagrams and you should be able to figure it out, i dont know for sure, so i wont say anything.

Why not try and find a control box
I picked mine up from importbitz for fiddy dowlah

Yeah lots of people ditch the hydro fan so it shouldn't be too hard to find a controller.
