Stops the pressure dropping rapidly when injectors open, and pressure going sky high when they close.
And Kedderz, the fuel pump turns on with ignition ON because the person who did the conversion did the dodgy, and wired it up incorrectly.
The fuel pump should only come on with the key in START and when the engine is running.
As for the leak, remove the CSI with the fuel line and wires connected.
Put it in a jar (will need a second person), and then turn the key on.
Assuming the pump kicks in the CSI should not leak.
If it leaks (dribbles) then replace it (not sure if you can service it)
If it sprays like a champagne bottle after you've just won the grand prix, then the wiring is even more dodgy (unlikely, but worth a check)
