There was a thread on toyotacressida.net that showed the differences in engine location within the x83 bay when using x81 or reversed x90 mounts.
Meh. Works fine for me, engine sits perfectly in the bay. There's no chance the engine could sit any further back or else it'd hit the firewall. The radiator hose fits perfectly, the tailshaft fits perfectly, so I fail too see how it sits further forward then any other mounts would.Originally Posted by Hengsta

standard or aftermarket equivelant?
ive only ever used Ezra's (Byteme) mounts, i doubt they'll have the same issue.
I've not compared the angle between the JZX81 and reversed JZX90 mounts, but I do know if either is used with the early MX83 crossmember which has more angle on the mounting plates, the mounts will be stretched and tear through.

I thought it was common knowledge that you have to use a jzx81 crossmember OR a series 2 mx83 crossmember (which are identical). If you somehow managed to bolt any sort of mounts to the series 1 crossmember then no wonder the rubber is stretched lol.Originally Posted by JP
