I had the same problem on the Soarer.
I ended up changing the setting to 170KPH, and it works OK now. I cant remember what colour wires I tapped into though.
Even though I changed the setting to 170KPH, my speedo still shows up to 180. *shrugs*
Hi guys,
I just fitted my Apexi RSM this morning, and took it out for a run. G sensor etc is hooked up fine. RPM and speed is spot on.
But it still has the 180 speed limiter! I have cut the speed wire and run it through the RSM as directed, with the purple wire going into the RSM, and the pink one going out.
I went into the RSM and there is settings for 180, 240? and OFF, and I've tried both 180 and OFF and both still don't defeat the cut.
Am I doing something wrong?
Car is a 1JZ Cressida (JZX81 Chaser). Is there another speed sensor I need to be disabling?

Awesome, thanks heaps mateI'll go set it now, and have a crack at it soon! Does the auto still go into 4th properly? Or do you have to back off the accelerator and then get back onto it for it to shift? What sort of max speed would I achieve before running out of gears/revs?

I know my soarer used to speed limit at 179kph... so 180 might not be low enough...
The gearbox will not self change into 4th either.. must back off and re accelerate.

My mate had the same problem with his 1uzfe, not sure what he set it at though, can be a bit annoying testing it! From memory I set mine to 180 on the supra, but I think neonasty was correct with the 170 setting, try that. Also you have hooked it up correctlyECU to pink, RSM to purple.
EDIT: Also remember you have to change your speed output setting, it says to set it to 186 for the 1jz cressida, this is probably why it's happening.

When I have done top speed testing, the auto went into 4th without problems. I think.. Yeah Im sure it did.
Anyway I crapped myself once I hit 240Ks Per hour and slowed down. I still had about 2K rpm before red line too. Im fairly sure I would have hit 250. Damn scary for a stock car.
Did the speedo settings fix the problem?

I haven't had a chance to do another run, need to find a long private road to test it all outI'm pretty confident the 170 setting mentioned above should do the trick. 2k left at 240kph? Awesome!! I'd be crapping myself lol

Very long private road.
Yeah the Soarer just kept pulling, I was really suprised that it went that fast.
I folded in the mirrors, did up all the windows and gave it to it. Foot almost flat to the floor.
100, 120, 140, 180. Speedo just kept showing 180.
RSM kept going, 210, 220, 230, shit Im going pretty fast... 240. Back off. lets the car roll back to 100Kph. Took a few Kms to slow down too.
I love my Soarer. How many cars can do those speeds in stock form? The car just stuck to the road, and wanted more.
*hugs Soarer*
