i'll get Ron to look here apparently he has a few motors
Well, before any Mods pull this down or move it, I asked Josh first in the hopes of getting some more exposure and hopefully the help I need, so please don't move it![]()
The long version of events go something like this. My old 1G that run a 9.71 had stock internals, pistons, crank and rods, just a rebuild with rings, bearings, and some oil system mods. I wa so surprised by the potential, I set about building a killer engine with knife edged crankshaft, custom rods and pistons, girdle, etc etc etc. The shop that was paid to knife edge and grind the crankshaft, supposedly one of the best in the country, sent the crank back, and I don't know if they just thought we wouldn't notice or measure it, but there was 11 thou variance in stroke!!!!
Anyway, to get it fixed locally quickly for Jamboree, they had to grind the mains .020" under and th big ends .030' under. Due to the now typical oil system problems, we hurt number 1 rod bearing, and not wanting to go anymore undersize, I have to replace the crank. Out of the last 7 fully counterweighted 1G crankshafts I have owned or been given, 5 have been cracked. Thats right, 5. And I got a new one last week, and that is also cracked.
I'm now in the position of moving house, workshop, and needing to put my engine back together before I can, and have no crankshaft, and little prospect of finding one. If anyone from this forum can please please pretty please beg borrow or steal me one, actually about 5 just in case any of them are cracked or I damage another 1, I'd really really appreciate your help, and as quickly as possible. The crank I need is the fully counterweight 44mm big end Gen 3 crankshaft, the others won't work or do.
Anyhow, fire your questions away, or my number is 0410 730 598. If you even have one I can borrow that you won't use in the next 6-8 weeks, I'll find one in the meantime and give it back to you if you need it, I'll even grind it or do something for free for the help. Thats my pleading and begging for the day, thanks guys.

Yeah Kylie as you asked me a while back I only have the 1 which you said wasn't right.
I do also have a efi long motor if you just need an engine to move your car.
Pulling the head off mine atm and to visit to drop off those exhaust houings.
Text me if you think I can help in any way.
Will let ya know when its out so you can organise to have it picked up dude...
Cheers,
Jase
Thanks guys. Yeah, the crank you have is a non counterweighted one Ron, I need the fully counterweighted turbo crank, cause my crank is offset ground 1mm so if I used a non counterweighted crank, my pistons would sit 1mm down the bore. My car is also far too complex to just put a bottom end in to move it, combination of show quality bay, so much polished stuff, and so little room, I just want to get it together to move the car so i don't have to cart all the bits around separately.
Jase has been extremely kind and is helping me out with a crank, but if anyone else has one or can ask your mates about one, I'd still like 2-3 others, as there is every chance this one may be cracked, and I'd like at least 1 spare.
Cheers......................Kyle.
theres a few lurking over here in NZ if you get real desperate I have a big crank from a turbo motor, and maybe another but unsure did any of the 1ggze's have the big crank? mines the last version coil on plug
Well, I didn't think that any of the supercharged engines did have a counterweighted crank, but they did, which we only found out recently, as Jamie(forcefed6)'s car spun a big end as well, and its a factory SC engine, and upon being stripped down, its actually a counterweighted crank. This is however the only one I have ever seen or heard of, so I imagine they are pretty rare. I'll let you know if I get desparate, but I'd say postage would be a killer, about $120-130 for normal air freight which takes about 10 days.
Thanks for the help guys, keep it comin![]()

If you havn't got Kyles number already, go to www.6boost.com. His contact details are there.
In reference to the supercharged cranks... as Kyle already mentioned mine turned out to be a counterweighted like he is after. My engine was a later model GZE.

I'll still take both if you don't want both though

Hey all, I found a crankshaft for my engine, however I still need 1 spare one just in case of a failure, and 1 for Jamie's engine from forcefed performance. Even if someone local(brisbane) has a non counterweighted crankshaft that we can use for jamie's engine for jamboree, if you could help us out would be awesome.
What cranks do 1G-GE have in them? There is one at ABC Wreckers @ Ipswitch...!
Cheers
Wilbo
Yeah, I know about that one. They also wanted a couple hundred bucks for that one too.
I may know of a couple 1G n/a cranks near me, but havn't had the chance to look into the further. Kyle and I only decided on this option for mine the other day...
As I am sure you know, the IS200 has the same crank as the gen 3, (same part numebr in EPC) I'm not sure about your neck of the woods but there are LOADS fo IS200s in the UK, might be easier to find a newer decent condition crank from one of those. Thats what I did.
Might be worth a shot!
