Linden - Aus delivered st185 3s's and CS edition st185 had a steel exhaust wheel from factory.
A hiflow on a 3sgte gives you a little bit more punch in the mid range, slightly less if any difference in lag, and it holds boost closer to redline unlike the stock ct26 which dies in the ass after 5500+rpm.
These are the changes i noticed from going from a ct26 JDM ceramic to a 50trim ct26 steel wheel..

just curious as to how much power these turbos are good for?
i purchased it as the guy said it was a T04e turbo, but obviously its a fair bit smaller.
i bought it to put on an EB falcon 4 litre with an aim of 5-7psi or 180-200rwkw at 4500-5000rpm
i've been told that i could get away with a T3 (which has a smaller turbine and much smaller comp wheel than the turbo i have) but i think the turbine housing flows more - the CT26 looks tiny!
so i guess what im curious about is will this turbo be ok on a 4ltr?
i know its small but i dont see the point in going for a turbo thats larger than i need it to be if i can get away with a small one
I got 225 rwkw on my 7mgte with a 57trim wheel.
4 litre will make the turbo spool really well, probably choke it up top, get a turbo from a xr6 turbo, perfect!![]()
RA23 - Twincharged
JZZ20 - Daily
the whole setup so far has cost me a couple hundred lol
i got the CT26 for $30 cause it needs new seals ($60 for a rebuild kit)
but if people are making 220rwkw with them then i cant see why i cant make 180rwkw.
doesnt matter what engine your using (within reason), 220rwkw should require a certain amount of air and will generate a certain amount of exhaust gas.
the 4l is a larger engine but it will only be spinning to 5000rpm max, so i'm hoping i might get away with it.
there was a turbo falcon done by dealers in the early 80s and 90s that used a T3 (which as a said has a smaller turbine and much smaller compressor wheel) so in theory should work lol
but yeah, will proly see boost at 1500rpm or something silly
you will need to highflow a ct26 to make that much snort. Max on a stock ct26 is around 180 atw so you might be ok, it'l be damm responsive.
As a comparison the ct20b (turbo off the last model gtfour) on mine made 200 kw at all 4 wheels at 20 psi.
yeah the CT26 i have has a clipped rear wheel and 57trim front wheel.
sounds like it might work out. it will be interesting lol
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
