    Default mixing oil viscosities

interesting debate in the house, trying to determine whether mixing 2 different oil viscosities would produce a blend inbetween the two. mineral and synthetic are always kept seperate but a mix of two mineral or two synthetic? eg a straight 50 and straight 30
would produce a 40? im sceptical to this argument lol but cant seem to find an answer!

From what I can figure, the viscosity will go in between with equal amounts.

This is provided that the mix is homogeneous, meaning that you probably can't mix synth and mineral oils and get this.

I'm obviously not an expert haha... but going by basic chem, like dissolves like, so the 2 oils, once again provided they arent a different base makeup, should mix and give a resultant viscosity. Going by a pure guess also, it should be a linear graph of viscosity vs oil grade. Mix the 2 to get an average.

Also, Correct me if I'm way off!
