One can do a full conversion in a week?Originally Posted by petespipes
Yeah, but this is a full conversion into a non-bolt in car, with the added challenge of a Turbo, aftermarket ECU, front mount etc.
I may be new to the Toymods forum, but I've been around modded cars for quite a while and no matter how much people want to fling crap at this car, it's quite a good thing for 3 days work (to my knowledge there were 2 machanics and one other guy involved in the build).
Commenting on it's level of build quality not being high enouhg for Autosalon is a bit of a joke, the car looks to have been built mostly for a dyno queen, and lst newcastle autosalon I went to saw a see of "show cars" where the paint colour changed from panel to panel, the quality at Autosalon, and most shows is just crap these days, it seems that the promoters are just happy to grab more entry fees rather than present a good quality of car - maybe less people are willing to show thier cars too?
The questions around the workshops abilities are equally as funny to me, fair enough Ribfeast had a problem, and I don't know the whole sotry (didn't read his topic) but everyone makes mistakes, lets not be too rough.
Also worth noting is the 200kw+ 4 cyl cars Nova has taken to autsalon before. 200kw+ camry and a couple of 300kw hondas that were there a couple of years ago.
In closing, I want to point out that I am not affiliated with Nova, I have used them to work on my cars when I lived nearby and had no problems, but I am not financially or otherwise tied to the workshop - I get no benefit in standing up for them other than the fact I don't think ragging on this car is giving them a fair go. 300kw (not hp) from a very roughly tuned 4 litre is quite good IMHO. I'm sure I had seen a fair few customer Cressidas there when my car was there too?
