Try supercheap, you have that there right? Or any autoparts store that stock Tridon thermostats, they do the o-ring seal, cant remember the part number, but its in their catalogue. I bought one recently...
The thermostat o-ring on my gen3 3sgte is broken. But because I live in the backwater town of Sydney Toyota doesn't have any in stock and will need to get it from Melbourne or QLD.
I've had a look around the internet and some people on mr2 forums say a Land Cruiser thermostat (PN#: 90916-03117) would fit the gen3. So is there a chance I'd be able to pick up an o-ring for the above Land Cruiser thermostat?

It may fit, the same thermostat gasket fits a 1uzfe for a celsior and crown, take the thermostat in and see if it looks like the right size?
Or use some sealant on the broken one for the time being until the one from melbourne comes?

I'll give SuperCheap a call tomorrow. So sick of getting all MR2 specific parts from Melbourne when we're supposed to be the business centre of Australia.
Can't run the engine at the moment because coolant would leak out of the o-ring. It's dripping even when the engine isn't running.
Sealant is your friend

yeah I used the same stuff when I was using a busted ring, you can even go no ring if you put enough on so the thermo doesn't move and on the face of the housing
My first priority is to get it done properly, getting it done expeditiously is only a bonus. The TRD catalogue shows the same thermostat is shared by a few other vehicles. I'll see if I can try them out in the morning.
