Bolts are many times stronger in sheer than in tension.

Yeah, i use the T3 NCRCAs on the spoonter, and i actually find that the handling (at least at Mallala) is nicer than without. Squirms a bit under braking but turns in very nicely. The steering is a bit heavier, but that is probably also attributable to the 2.5TLTL rack that i have in there.

    My bad.

Takai, would you say they would still be acceptable for a road car? My biggest concern would be the 'tramlining'...

that also depends on tyres (harder sidewall = worse) and toeout.. not just scrub radius..

Good thread guys, The positive scrub radius issue is the reason i still haven't upgraded the front brakes on the corona, to BA rotors, which means the rotors will go on top of the hubs & space each wheel out by 10mm each side . don't want to go to all the effort & have the car wander around everywhere, used to have a RX3 years ago with a lot of positive scrub, wasn't all that nice to drive, used to tram track everywhere on bad roads .... Its been years since i have worried about front end geometry angles but looking at it now i would think those NCRCA, would not really change the scrub radius much in a straight line situation, because the strut is also deflected out moving the point of road contact... Different story when turning the wheel , because it now also increases the castor on turns due to the offset in relation to the ball joint ...
To me offset wheels is more the issue, & changes in tyre rolling circumference from standard ...
    My 2 cents worth ...

what is the most important measure of scrub radius, (total mm, & of tyre section width, % of track width, etc), and what amount of scrub is generally 'acceptable'?

i know this question is quite vague

old thread. but anyway. the ncrcas are fine, as long as youre not using an offset "deeper" than around 0.

i think you will find that is about the most youll fit in old toyotas guards without mods anyway.

for "our" type of street cars.. the steering effort is fine. its heavy but not stupid.
