    Default celica needing fuel pump

Ok I',m about to go and look at a celica that cannot exceed 2-3rpm without shuddering ect. The guy suggests its the fuel pump, now its an injected motor- not sure what motor im about to go and check it out. Problem is he says that they are not available.

Can anyone shine some light on how much a new fuel pump will cost / can i get one / if not what can i do?

    Cheers,

    Callum.

    that bit is bullshit -

maybe the problem is as simple as a blocked fuel filter or maybe the motor's completly ratshit... take your tools with your and be prepared to get messy.

The price of the fuel pump will depend on what car it is! most aftermarket efi fuel pumps are around $100-250. Really need more info so that we can help you further...

ok maybe not, video wont upload + wont include sound on playback.

The car will not exceed 3k rpm, even at full throttle- at full throttle it backfires and stuggles.

There is plenty of fuel in the car so thats not it.

I'm not sure what engine it is, looks just like injected 21-rc (i know its not), 22-re?
    I know its 2.4L.

In short it has a dent on the front right fender, bit of a rusty hatch. Deck that isnt installed properly, not the best interior but OK. Button immobilizer, flat right front tyre.

He wants $500, its going to the wreckers by the end of the week. ALSO the rego is due- as in right now.

    thoughts?

Is it really worth that? considering your gunna pay ~$800 for rego (in nsw anyways) plus the $500 for the car, say another $50 for tyre, and then say another $500 to get it roadworthy. What could $2000 get you? im assuming you could probably get a better deal.

WOW rego is huge over there, its like 180 - 360 the last time i paid for my old 81 ra60.
I do need a cheap run around and this could be it.
Its already roadworthy, needs a new tyre / tube and its ready to roll.
so 360 tops rego and the wreckers will give him screw all for the car so ill offer $300 and go from there. but it will depend on other factors.

Its an ra65 22re then. you can get fuel pumps for them. but i reckon it possibly might be a timing issue. backfiring and not revving up sounds like the ignition is retarded..

    ok, before i leave.

$500 for car. around $200 for rego,
    150-300 for the fender damage,
and the engine is still the mystery.

If someone can shine the light on this it would be really appreciated!
