    Default 2JZ cometic Gasket

I am looking at installing a cometic 1.8mm head gasket on the weekend with ARP headstuds on my 2JZ Project.

After a bit of research i found that some of the rivets need to be drilled out or the will foul between the head and the block.
Also is thread sealer required for installation into a 2JZ.

I'm sure i will be able to tell what needs doing when i have the head off, but i like to have as much info as i can before i start. Anyone had any personal experience, what need to be prepared.
    Thanks

This was the reply i got from cometic when i queried them about it.

"If the rivets are going to interfere with the block to head surface then they need to be removed. I do not think that all of the rivets need to be removed. You will have to mock everything up to see if they interfere at all."

shouldnt require any sort of sealer but a bit of hylmar wouldnt go astray.
not sure on the rivet thing but you shouldn't have to do anything as cometic should be a straght fit
    why a 1.8mm thick gasket?
thats a nasty way of droppin comp (yes it works but not good for squish)

    cheers

1.8mm gave me around the compression ratio i wanted its for a -GE,
I wasn't prepared to redo the bottom end, and didn't really think its necessary. Time will tell.

Installed today, rivets did not "interfere" on any parts (for the -GE) I would assume the same for the GTE, but you will easily see when installing, Maybe they corrected the issue. Maybe there was no issue to start with.
