pros more torque to the wheels, less engine movement in a gt4 replacing front & rear only
cons some engine vibration ,cost but WILL last longer than rubber ones
the speed source ones are great , the kit has all u need & easy to fit
Hey,
I did a search on engine mounts and polyurethane but couldn't dig up the info I was chasing. I'm in the market for some new engine mounts to go with my engine rebuild. The car will be a daily driver/track car - im not sure if thatll affect which mount stiffness to go with? Anyhow I had my eyes on some polyurethane mounts but have been getting some mixed info about them, ie. They dont last long apparently?
So what are the pros and cons of polyurethane mounts?
Thanks in advance![]()

Very little give and fail easily if mis treated IE jacking car on motor with out undoing some bolts.
I have torn 3 engine mounts.
there also lighter too.
I'm using the speedsource mounts on my GrpA and I highly doubt you could break them from any amount of abuse.
The speedsource mounts are solid so they shouldn't tear like some of the other poly mounts around.
Pro's
-Durability
-Cost (yes cheaper than factory)
-Less engine movement
Con's
-Increased vibration
