are you sure, the aw11 had two OD types in the rear (pre 86 post 86) the later model ones are pretty solid, certainly the early model are much thinner.

just thinking from memory i think the late model ones are pretty heavy duty. ill check the OD on them tonight.

    Hey lads,

For the record should this thread be found again, the SW20 MR2 rear fits the R31 strut perfectly, with a slightly thicker gland nut it fits in beautifully, with no shortening etc whatsoever.

Z31 are almost the same, just need to space them up

and R30 are the same on the rear, i think you may be able to get AGX's for an R30 i'm not sure

I think from memory R31 struts are a similar system to S13 etc.. Linden would know.. That being the case means you would be able to drill your hole in the bottom of the strut to get the adjustment there... Are you able to post a picture of your sturts?

Or do they look similar to this?

    Hope this helps,

    Chris.

Bit slow on the uptake here Good to see you found the SW20 rears will fit, thats what I have in my shortened XT130 'rona struts. I used the monroe dimension chart to cross reference measurements and make sure its what I wanted before I purchased the KYB AGXs as they arent all that cheap. A few good sources of info in the link below for future reference

How much did you shorten your Xt130 struts by to fit the SW20 AGX's? Did the gland nut screw down OK? Thanks.

i shorten them to different heights depending on the ride height of the particular vehicle. the main thing you need to achiev is the correct amount of droop.

i generally aim for about 80-90mm which will give you about 60-70mm of bump b4 it hits the bumpstop rubber.

normally its about 25mm that needs to be removed and then a spacer added in the bottom of the strut.

i use the std gland nut and just get a steel sleeve made to suit the id of the nut and the od of the insert.

    cheers
