what model 3sge?
gearbox will bolt straight up.
6speeds arent all that strong so id suggest a w58.
havnt done a beams but have done a gen3 3s so if you ask specific Qs i should be able to help you out.
cheers

Hey guys
Im doing a SW20 3sge into my ke70.
Now i was wondering if the 6spd bolts up to the SW20 gearbox? And im also looking at people that have done beams conversions into AE86s before and wonder what tunnel mods are needed?
Also i need to know how stronge they are? The car will be set up for drift and curcuit and hillclimb. Also the ratio would be helpful to.
I have searched but ive found no answers
Thanks for your help

As far as im aware its a SW20 3SGE (im staying n/a) gen 2 thats what ive been told.
I was just wondering if there was any benifiets going to the 6spd and what mods would be needed. Only because a local import has one for $1500.
If the w58 will be stronger i will stay with that as i already ahve a 3y bellhousing.

stick with the w5# for strength and price.
id try to get a gen3 na, for the $650 (typical price) they're worth the extra bucks and better to mod later.

yeap the gen 3 has bigger and better port spacing. I am doing a gen 2 3sge into a tx gemini. so i am in the same boat.
I picked up a gen 2 for $1000 about 12 months ago now.
What makes the Gen3 a better motor?
My boss at work as done a few 3sge RWD and he thinks the gen2 is the better one of the lot only thing it doesnt have is underbucket shims.
Im planning on massive cams (300+ duration) very high comp (11.5-12) quads (silver top 20v) balancing normal sort of stuff. Most probably some sort of race fuel too.
If the intake manifolds are different i can really change as i have a manifold with quads for a gen2

the gen 2 apparently has the better rods and crank (AFAIK).
the gen 3 ports are symetrical and bigger and have the bucket over shims. The gen 2 can be converted over too.
the gen 2 stuff wont fit on the gen 3. My estractors and manifold are too small. I have made my quads from a fiat manifold and the factory toyota manifold.
well if your planning that bigger cams and massive head work the 20V quads are to small. you will need to get 45mm or better. I am running 48mm tapered down to 42mm for mine and i am aiming for 200 real horsepower. no fudge stuff.
check out efi hardware for throttle bodies.
Got a link to the EFI hardware website for the quads?
The silver top has 38mm throttle plates though not that much smaller really.

The 6spd should be fine behind an n/a motor.
http://www.efihardware.com/efi_throttle.html thats to the throttle bodies. there not cheap though.
Meridian Motorsport do some as well, probably from EFI hardware, not cheap though![]()

The Meridian Motorsport ones are for a gen3 ive already looked at them.
Fish: Do you know if the EFI hardware ones come with the manifold to suit and do they have a spot for a tps? I havent been able to find what bolt pattern they are either

Don't think so.
I had to make mine.
Yeah charged i paid $1600 for 2 and that was for everythng. bungs and linkages
hey charged,
congrats on the win and pole over the weekend!!!
Do you know what the bolt pattern is for the silver top quads? If its the same as the efi hardware ones i might look into them
