What about getting someone to make up an alloy top tank The core is alloy so you can get it welded on!

I saw the same done on an Aristo at importbitz once when I was there

Just use the MX83 radiator, mine is running the hydraulic fan with the standard radiator as I had the same problem. It bolts on up top and then just some extra tabs for the bottom. It's not perfect but better than what you're suggesting IMO.

the standard MX83 radiator doesn't have the hydraulic fan temp sensor bung in the bottom tank the JZX81 uses. The JZX81 radiator with stuffed top tank is 5mm thinner at the tank and the core than the reco'd mx83 radiator I have here

Could you go fibreglass? Or one of those co-extruded epoxy polymers like knead it etc should hold up to temps better than araldite. Just make sure it is grease free and i would recommend using gloves when you work with it, the polymer stuff is hard to get off fingers and if you have greasy skin it wont bond as well. Good luck mate.

I used 24 hour araldyte for months, it went soft after a little while but still barely leaked, so i agree with others it will do fine, just let it go off for the reccomended time if not a bit longer, as i said it may go a little soft from the hot water but it wont let go.
