quick fix of cracked top tank in radiator

i have a crackjed top tank, is there a way to fix it, i.e. clean it perfectly and use a resin to block it

for temporary?
clean very well, grind surface clean and degrease thoroughly...

then get epoxy resin/araldite and chux superwipes or similar

higher temp resin will last longer.

Stu's idea sounds like a winner then, but you have to make sure the tank is empty, and dead cold, and makes sure its set rock hard before you start it.

why not just get a 2nd hand cressida one to get you through mate. the top bolt holes for ht fan are fine, there arent any ont he botom just put some rubber aorund themso they dotn rub through.

haha yeah i follow....

takes 10mins to pull the rad from the cressy, drop it at your local RAD shop, top tank will average at about $150 to replace, and you will have it back the same day usually!,

Hey all, a quick easy fix is the araldite glue, put it on good and thick and heaps around the crack.... if dryed and done right will hold for a good time... or you can go to a auto shop and get radiator/petrol tank repair stuff... looks like kneadit but flat and u rub it into a ball then spread onto... very good stuff when usesd correctly

u cant get top tanks for JZX81 cores, they are 5mm wider than cressy ones
