Errr, so ALL the injectors are stuffed at once?
Also, you can't get some from a wrecker?
$1800 for injectors that 'just might' fix the problem suggests another opinion is needed?
Hey guys,
Parents v6 vienta has been diagnosed with stuffed injectors after being at auto electrician for the last 2 weeks trying to work out why it doesn't start easily.
He said they cost $300 from Toyota each??!!
They are top feed, unsure of impedance and cc though.
Anyone see a problem with swapping for same spec one in bosch. And any help in working out which one is suitable would be great.
Thanks
Chris

two are definitely stuffed, two are trying to be cleaned and two are in doubt.
all i say is never trust an auto electrician heheh
how far are the injectors out compared to the good ones
if its only like 5 or 10 % it shouldnt make it hard to start
I'd be getting a 2nd opinion, too.
I can get you some 2nd hand ones here in Syd no probs.
how did the injectors get so stuffed in the first place? bad fuel? any maintenance done in last 5 years ;-)
starting problems could also be aux air valve, engine and/or trans temp sensors, flaky igniter, dodgy coil(s), air leaks, wrong plugs, plug leads, ...
sounds like a very expensive fix?
This guy is the third opinion.
Have already spent nearly $1000 fixing stuff that hasn’t fixed the problem.
Parents only bought the car less than a year ago and it had been regularly serviced so…?

This page says that 1mz injectors are compatible with 2jz-ge injectors? Is this correct? Same impedance, inductance and flow?
*I think the 2jz-ge's flow more as someone was saying to use these on supercharged camrys*
got some second hand injectors and it is all good again finally
somehow water got in the fuel tank and that is what stuffed the old injectors apparently.
That can definately happen as old servo tanks start to leak - if groundwater is high enough it gets into the tank, unsuspecting customer fills up and a little while later..... big problems.
A guy at work had this very issue with diesel - after filling his tank he got 100m from the servo and started pouring out white smoke before the engine conked out. The fuel company paid for his entire fuel system to be cleaned, and his fuel pump to be completely rebuilt, plus a loan car whilst his was off the road. All up cost around $5k.
It's a bastard that it cost your folks so much.
