    Default Carbie 4AGE, what ignition/dizzy works? 4AC/sigma/bluebird III/4cyl magna??

Part way through the build of a Carbie 4AG that's going in my RT40 corona that will be replacing the 2R, which served well for trips to tassie and the snow but it was time to move on. I've done a search and there's not much in the way of useful information.

As we all know the 4AGE runs a dizzy that's more of a hal effects sensor than an actual dizzy, with no internal advance mechanism. Without a computer to do all the math it's not much good when running a car on carbies. I've heard myths about using 4AC dizzys from AE82's with a sleeve? or sigma dizzys/bluebird mkIII dizzys and magna dizzys, even about using a 3AC dizzy from a Trecel. Are there any cheap ignition only computers that can use the 4AGE dizzy?

This conversion is reasonably common, but information about the finer points appears scarce.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Jordan

P.S: thanks so far to Rodger for carbie linkages, to Will (20Vrona) for the yet to arrive engine and gearbox mounts (yours were shipped yesterday) and matt (RKE_11 from rollaclub) for the rebuilt head, carbies, gearbox, and manifolds.

You can apparently use an AE82 4AGE dizzy with an RA60 ignitor and coil. Doesnt give you advance though, but it has been suggested that with Webers this doesnt matter.

Now that begs the question, are the modified 4K dizzies based on your vanilla KE70 4K dizzy? Or from some funky KP model? If of course there is a difference?

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.

they are usually listed as just 4K... however, in japan, they didn't get the Bosch dizzies..
only the Denso dizzies were released in japan.
the elec one i saw in a KE70 the other day looked the same as the denso elec dizzies from US kp61 starlet, and the same diameter cap as the KE10 dizzies...

i figure any of the Denso K dizzies will do?

I've sourced a 4AC dizzy, and 4K dizzy's grow on trees, if plan A doesn't work will try plan 4K.

someone around here must have done this t their own car?

I'll just add the extent of my research here:

None of the dizzies I tried at the wrecker have worked so far. I've tried AE82 4AC, 4K Bosch, SV11 2S and 2.0 Sigma (looked the same as 2.6).

None of the dizzy gears had teeth at the right orientation to suit. So it seems a 4AG dizzy drive gear will be needed.

The 4AC unit may fit, but needs the shaft cut down
The 4K unit looks ok, again needs the shaft cut down
The 2S dizzy is too bulky as it has an inbuilt coil, also didn't fit well
The Sigma dizzy was far too long in the shaft and body

So 4K with 4AG gear looks the best bet so far, but I need a 4AG gear to test any further.

OK, Old Corollas kindly pointed me at some good pictures for this setup. Sounds like Takai's suggestion is on the money. Here are the pictures:

Yup, same pictures as i have seen in the past. The one which i saw a couple of weeks ago was the same but without the inner seal, this one was welded to the head.
