No-one has rebuilt a 1/2JZ PS pump?
Hi Guys,
I've searched but can't find info/part numbers for the 1/2JZ Power steering pump rebuild /seal kit's. I'm also interested in what's included as I want to replace the gasket, front seal, and the 3 O-rings internally to ensure the pump is 100% again.
I've rung toyota and was given this number :- 044403120 (and was told it's the seal kit $46) I can't confirm this as I don't have EPC access though
I've also sourced a replacement for the front double sealed bearing. The one fitted to my pump ( I assume Factory) was P/N:- TMB203LSAX.
The replacement bearing is an NTN Bearing from CBC is P/N:- 6203LLU/2AS Roughly $9 each
Can anyone shed some light here?
Thanks in advance.

Dunno about the price but part number - 04446-30120 Gasket Kit, Power Steering Pump
That's for a jzx81, I'm assuming it's the one you want as it matches the part number you gave besides the missing digit
I am the sun
Thank you very muchThat part number you gave has a heap of hits when searched
The Bearing is 90363-17013
Seal Kit is 04446-30120
Stolen from another site.
I've got the replacement front ball race and am not changing the white metal bush inside the housing as it appears to be in good nick, so the seal kit should be what I'm chasing.
Any idea on what is included with the seal kit?

Do you need any special tools or anything to re-seal a powersteering pump? Mine isn't too far off going. I've got a spare that I was going to get rebuilt when I get cashed up, but If its doable by a home mechanic then I might have a bash at it myself instead.
Wanna take some pics or do a how to when your done?
I'll take some pics through the processI haven't looked 'too' hard in to how to remove the seal jsut yet, but I'd imagine a brass drift will free it

I did need to 'press' (read hammers, wood, tubing and vice) the ball race from teh housing though.

any updates on this dude?
Sorry Guys, I rebuilt a couple of these a while back but didn't have the camera with me.
They aren't very difficult to get apart, fairly intuitive once you get going. The rebuild kit P/N above comes with all the bits you need to redo it and along with a new bearing it's pretty easy.

just replace all the o rings and that bearing and shes all apples again?
I thought I'd included this...
Attachment 8388
Attachment 8387
You may get away with bearing and O-rings only if it's noisey, but Item 14, the seal is most likely where you'll have a leak it it's out of the front of the pump and the only place I could find for this was the rebuild kit.
Also if pulling it down make sure you take note of the orientation of the vanes, they have a rolled and straight edge.

Cheak that the low pressure line isnt sucking air from the resi coz that will cause it to air rate.
ill get the part number from work 2moz for the kit but if u pull the pump apart and its scored where i said then throw it away its no good.
cheers nick

driftmotion sell brand new pumps on an exchange basis. doesnt look too expensive either. they are very small and light so shipping wouldnt be too bad...
that being said i pulled my own ps pump down myself with no real intent of servicing it. my steering was a tad heavy but nothing serious was wrong with it.
the only 'special' tool i needed was a bearing press to pop the f*ckin wheel off the spline!
after putting mine back together without actually replacing anything, it performed like a new pump. several people have since driven my car and all commented on how light the steering is.
the only thing i can put it down to is when i reassembled the pump, i took no notice of which way the centrifugal shards came out (they are totally symmetrical) however some must have been worn more on one side than the other and so putting them back in god knows how many went back in the opposite way which has probably created a better seal on each shard since its on a 'new' face. this in theory would create better pressure in the lines and hence a 'lighter' steer.
Meh, i was very happy with the outcome, except the slightly wobbly wheel thanks to the bearing press.
