ive got two 1jz p/s pumps needing rebuilding, from what i can see these part #'s are needed, anything else?
    The Bearing is 90363-17013
    Seal Kit is 04446-30120

would it be easier to take the pump's + rebuild kit to a shop to fix or simple enough to figure it out myself?

    cheers

You may get away with bearing and O-rings only if it's noisey, but Item 14, the seal is most likely where you'll have a leak it it's out of the front of the pump and the only place I could find for this was the rebuild kit.

Also if pulling it down make sure you take note of the orientation of the vanes, they have a rolled and straight edge.
i found they were the same on both ends?!?!

it looks like toddo found the same?

mine looked completely symmetrical, the only thing i can think of as to why yours weren't is that perhaps yours were heavily worn, maybe run without oil for a period of time causing premature wear?

mine was fucked cause i ran it without fluid.

although im guessing it'd take a fuckload more than what i did to really effect the vanes, maybe BMWTurbo's were well well shagged.

i have a power steer pump on my 1jz that is making noise and also when i turn the wheel it doesnt turn the wheels for about an inch then starts turning. does this going both ways and the steering wheel is never cenetered when you turn it back. always an inch out either way.
    the pump is also noisy.

will i need to replace the veins inside the pump if i rebuild it? toyota just uoted me $107 for a gasket kit. the pump isnt leaking or anything so i doubt its anything to do with that.

i have replaced the lines and the rack. so they are all fine. suspect it is the pump.

btw i have a 1jz in an mx83. pretty sure its jzz30 pump. although i dont have the usual pop in power steer line with the o ring on it. mine has a thread in it with a fitting.
