It was definately on the cards mate.
Wanna get a base line before i start playing with stuffs hehe *eyes light up*
Wouldn't be expecting anything more than 220hp out of it at this stage though, not much of a challenge to some of the others on here

    Me too man!
220 ponies or so. Other boys been getting 250ish with boost wound up, but i'm not expecting much.
I'd like to know what the AFRs and boost is doing is all. I feel its running rich, but can't tell until it goes on there.

Tristan, even 200 is low compared to what you should be getting out of a 1J.

ditch the cat, stick a 3" system on there from turbo back (egay dumps) and you'll smack 240-250 at least.

but if i cant bring the sil80 ill probly bring the ke70 wagon instead should at least have 4age running in that car before the day

but again all depends how much its gonna cost.
driftae86 - yes, you are correct. OST caters for pre-90's japanese models.. hence OLD Skool Toys..
So, your Sil80 would fall into the category better than Rob's JZ147 Aristo for example which is a 1997 model.
Its your money, so whatever you wanna run on the day is up to you.
in past days, cost has been $40 - $45 for 2 power runs on the dyno. I'd expect this time to be around that cost depending on where we go as I'm investigating a couple of different workshops at the moment.

Rob - as stated above.. your Aristo is not Old Skool.
Hence, if you did run it on the dyno, I have decided that you will not be in the running for a trophey. I have no problem with your car on the rollers to make up numbers, but it would only be for your own benefit.
However.. bring the AE82 Corolla and your could have a high powered N/A contender!!

Where the grey area is models like the mk3 supra which began production in 1986 (Old Skool) and continued to 1992. This is where we kinda bend the rules a bit cos the mk3 supra is cool and still has that old skool shape even with the 91 & 92 models..

Ok. that covers most queries I think.. hopefully i will be kept informed with my subscriptions now...

    /end rant

Old school =pre 90 unless that model car was begun before 90 and continued past e.g. mk3 supra, Sw20 mr2, etc etc? Yeah?

Ok so the toys bit now stands for japanese toys (aka anything japanese) instead of toyota's? is this correct?

Also hasnt the previous dyno day rules been that only old school TOYOTA's are eligible for the trophies? Meaning other crap (aka not toyota ) can go on rollers but not win trophies? Same scenario as newer cars, likes robs aristo?

Just trying to clarify now so there is no arguaments on the day

personal opinion....i'd hate to see old skool toys end up being everything under the sun like skylines, sil's, etc etc. Especially since we are heavily toymods based also.

Another way of thinkin may be that exceptions be made for people with multiple cars, such as the dude with AE70 and Sil80 cos he still rockin the toyota too.

    Wot ya'll think???

    Cheers
    Matty

    ok cheers damo

i dont wanna cause problems by bringing the sil80, id just like to get it on the dyno to check out afr's etc. mainly due to its strange behaviour at the last couple of drift events that i entered. im not interested in any trophies so i dont mind if it isnt included. im just cheap and would like to get a cheap dyno run and if you need numbers i guess it works out well too

if the price does end up around the $40-$50 range per car ill put the ae70 on the dyno aswell just to keep the toyota people happy hehe. wouldnt mind knowing the power that beast is putting out haha

so yeah if its all good then put me on the list

    driftae86 - rs13 sil80 / CA18DET
    driftae86 - ke70w corolla / 4AGE

    ^^ Also agree.
Even though it invalidates my poor 1994 model vehicle, I am quite happy with OST *staying* as old school toyota's.

Wayno.. you realise you just agreed with Ross'z/Matty's comments and hence forth excluded yourself from the group being a 1993 Celica owner

After a lengthy discussion with my Vice-President of the car club last night.. it looks as though the club will be steering more towards Old Skool TOYOTA's in general.
The field was originally opened up to all makes of Japanese cars to try and expand the club members. I think the club still remains 98% toyota fans/drivers... so most likely that will be the road we will take.

We are all friends here, no one likes to be excluded.. I personally like and own a variety of cars. But its important to set boundries otherwise like matty said, every man and his dog is gonna get involved...
