other than that and a thourough wash out session, nope.

After getting my sump sand blasted and powdercoated, i'm now shitting myself at the thought of getting any residue of sand sucked up by the oil pick up. I've cleaned it out as well as I could and will clean it all again with prepsol but I'm worried about any sand lodging between the baffle and sump and getting circulated by the engine, anybody got any bright ideas?

I'd bin the sump personally. Risk you take unfortunately.
Next time, hot tank FTW.
Would suggest high pressure rinse, a fuckload of compressed air and a lot of banging to try and loosen the sand that's jammed in the between the baffles.
take it to the beach n shake it out?
you cant separate the baffle? if not, id be letting it soak in thinners/diesel to loosen anything that may be stuck,
dont use it if there is still sand in crevices
blow out with air gun...?
I'm going to clean it with everything you mentioned and then clean it again and then make a decision, old crappy looking sump or shiny new potentially dangerous sump MMmmmmm. Actually I might cut the baffles out and then clean it and put them back in.

once its sandblasted clean it in a parts washer then high pressure water gun then quickly spray heaps of WD40 on it and then blast it off with a air gun it should be fine, if it has been blasted and powdercoated it will be fine, they will have cleaned it really well before powder coating it
Submerge it in a bath, then blow compressed air in from underneath?? Or put it in the dishwasher. lol
If its been powder coated, i would have thought they'd clean it properly before hand?
Apparently not, its a good finish but inside the sump is still dirty, I dont think that they specialise in car parts , just something on the side.

This is what I was going to suggest. If you want to be certain, you'd need to get into all the nooks and crannies. Cut the baffles out, clean it well and then weld it back in. Mind you this would probably affect the powdercoating, maybe next time it's better to get it sandblasted first then cut then powdercoat...Actually I might cut the baffles out and then clean it and put them back in.
However, I think that a high pressure wash would do it, I'm not sure it would form clumps anyway so you can be pretty sure that it's all been flushed out.

shit how about not ricing the fcuken thing up in the first place?
lol
I've used a mig on the sump and its not had any effect on the powercoating so thats good. As for ricing it up , I dont really think so. Far from it, I just like things to look clean and tidy under the bonnet if possile, I want this motor to last for a while so I want to do it right first time. That means new seals, gaskets, bolts and studs and a coat of paint or chrome for things that need it. I also promise that when I get a new exhaust next week it wont be " fully sick" sound.

i 2nd a blast with the air gun (wearing saftey googles of course) and then put it on, if any sand happen to get up with the oil you thank that engine engineers thought of this thing called a oil filter that will trap any sand that makes it's way up.
I agree, if you can remove the baffling i reckon that would be the the safest option. There would be nothing worse than putting together a new motor spending $$$ and having that thought at the back of your head...
