that's how they're usually mounted. If it's come loose you will have issues.
I also like to grind the paint off on the bay under the bracket to make sure it has a nice ground.
mmmmmmmm ill check the ignitor, its not actually mounted to the body, its mounted to brackets, which run from the body ?

If you got CEL does the Diags show any error codes? Or do they clear when the CEL turns off again?

I had this happen to me in my 16v.
Firstly it was hestiating and really pissn me off. After changing alot of the things that would matter and it still did it, i started to look at the wiring. Looked at the TPS wiring and it was just twisted together!! then taped. I redid that and re-calibrated the tps. Now crossing finger no more issues. (its been 3 weeks now)

I'm going to suggest leaking capacitors. I just pulled open my 20V ECU on the weekend and found a nasty leaking Nichicon capacitor inside.
I suggest you do the same, and replace the caps. I'll do a write up later today
For me, i have the dreaded wont quite idle problem (wants to idle at 500-600rpm). Replacing the caps made it idle a little better, and not stall so regularly or easily.

its such a PITA,
i just put the standard airbox onto it, not that i think it will help..
the problem is, it doesnt do it all the time,
just then i went for a drive it was fine...
but then 2nite on my way to work it will fuk up,
like yesterday, if i take it to mechanics or anywhere they tell me to take it away cos its fine,
i drive it away and then an hour later its messing up...
its really making me start to pull my hair out now.

when it was dying last night, the check engine light, oil light, batt light were all coming on,
then it wouldnt start for a few mins, everytime u tried to start it, it was like something was blocking it or something, and if it did kick ova it would die right away,
that would last for a few mins
then it would kick ova fine..
so far, ive had it at numerous places, that when they had it the car ran fine,
ive replaced all the leads, taken apart the plenum and cleaned it all out,
spark plugs r brand new NGKs,
im not sure where to go with this now.. im trying to get it running properly so i can take it to toyofest but at moment its not looking good

On a 16v its T and E1.
I had a problem on my 16v where it would miss and stall and was really intermittent. Was giving a code 14 and turned out to be the wiring at the plug for the distributor being cracked and they were shorting out on each other.
