Default Whats that thing Called ?

Ok all, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed. I am trying to get the name of a connector on the 18R engine. What is the Heater Hose connector to the engine block called. It has a small outlet on one side and a larger one on the front which takes 3/4 inch hose.

I'm pretty certain that fitting is aftermarket, so if your trying to find a specific replacement part for the 18R, you wont find it.. Do what TA- 22 said and just buy a new fitting that has a threaded end on one side(screws into the block) and the other end with a 3/4" barb fitting so you can just push the hose onto it and clamp it up.

This a genuine part. It is the heater hose inlet pipe, it also has the small waterpump bypass hose. This is important as the bypass hose is needed to stop air locks and allows a small amount of water circulationand helps stop cavitation when the thermostat is closed.
If it is not corroded and leaking dont remove it, If it is U/S you can get a replacemant from toyota and it is a good idea to replace the little bypass hose as it is always forgotten when peole put new hoses on the motor and it is probably at least 20 years old.

install T piece and two barbed fitings .... less than $10 for the win.

unless your going for the full orignial theme .. then by all means order through toyota ... just it seems the smaller it is the larger it costs with them sometimes

This site rocks. Thanks for the comments. I appreciate the help, I will put pictures of the car up soon and show the great car i found garaged in Tasmania. 135k original kilometres. In awesome condition. It even has the crome wheel archs.

The heater hose inlet pipe is gone, it is the little bypass elbow. I dont care if i go non original, but a parts list to over come this would be awesome. I will also ring Toyota and get a price.
