I'm with wilbo, alarms normally have two sets of outputs for door lock solenoids, one for positive trigger, one for negative trigger. Jaycar central locking kits are negative trigger

If you are using the shadow alarm... then it has negative outputs for central locking.

Myself - i would piss off the central locking relay box, and run your two central locking motors as "slave" motors using two changeover relays (SY4070)

The lock and unlock wires are obviously the outputs from the alarm.
Test this first before connecting to your alarm by earthing the "lock" and "unlock" wires (touch the wire to the chassis!) to see if your solenoids are working.
This way you'll also work out which wire is actually lock and unlock - it's a 50/50 guess otherwise

P.S. i've got this exact setup in my celica. It's been there since 2002, and works fine.

I rekon you have a bung central locking relay box. They are pretty cheap and nasty things anyway.

Yep, pretty much came to that conclusion that it was bung, but not in the way you're thinking. I tested the solenoids earlier and they came up 100%. It would appear that somehow the central locking box has nuked my trigger wires on the alarm. (More to the point, it's nuked the pulldown transistors)

We now have a new central locking unit, and a new alarm, methinks happy times is in the future, I just need it to stop raining for a minute so I can work on my car!

Im having close to similar problems with this setup to.

However im using only 1 trigger wire from the alarm which is a negative or earthing trigger.

Its works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt. I can hear the relays clicking inside the jaycar central locking box but doesnt unlock or lock when its playing up. Sometimes it will just unlock and lock the back doors even though the passenger door is also wired off the same wires.

I have tried a new relay box and that didnt fix it. I have also tripple checked all my wiring around the trigger box and to the alarm however im going to have to pull the door trims off and try to make it not work and see what exactly is going on.

Ahh, the sweet sounds of solenoids clicking We have central locking love, just like a bought one.

Heres hoping the Wilbo style mods, combined with a new immobiliser and central locking module work for a long time to come

This implies it's a mechanical issue and not electrical. I had the same problem on a KE38 until all the pushrods were bent to just the right shape so there was no restriction other than the lock itself. If the rod pushed slightly to the side, the door lock button would get pushed against the shroud in the door trim causing enough restriction to stop it from moving.

JCMO, good to know it's solved (at least for now )
