Kirsty whats the turnaround on approvals atm?

My brother keeps hassling me to find out when his is going to be approved, i dont particularly care if it takes a week or a month, if I can get a timeframe it will keep him off my back

Low EF... if you would like it done quicker, then please develop a system that will make Kirsty's job easier. As it is she has to sort through all the applications, sift out the ones that are incomplete, check every one of them against the banned user list.

Then after she has done that, she has to add each new user into the database, activate their account, and still find time to scratch herself.

Meanwhile, the kids need a mum, the husband needs a wife, the mother's group needs a friend, and many other moderating tasks need to be done on this website, which she doesnt get paid megabucks to maintain (unlike the system administrator you may have at work)

So please, give the mods a rest. If you have a friend who is bugging you after a few weeks, then send a very polite message to Kirsty asking if she has received the application and whether there were any problems in processing. Of course you need to make sure the activation email was responded to by your friend first.

Please people, be a bit understanding, as this is being done for your benefit. If you just want to be able to whinge about poor management, pay your membership to Toymods, join the club, and nominate yourself for a management position on the board of Toymods, then you can propose the changes you want to see to the board.

Check what against the banned list? no banned user would give the same details, they would even change the ip/use a proxy

Why not have another well known user here promoted to help moderate? or one of the "board members" and i am the system administrator at work

Did that and did not receive one response.

Staff please be more understanding? a user does not want to sign up to this site and wait over 2 months to be allowed in. I suggest more staff / sort out a smoother way to accept new members.

Im not the only one who thinks this is disgusting, i have received a few PMs from my first post above agreeing with me. I run my own site with forums and i know you must take care of who you just allow to waltz in but 2 months + is an insult

Not such a hard task when your a trained IT person... but when your a mum who has learned to do it to help her husband and their friends out with their boy's club it takes it to a new level.

Its one thing to say bring somebody up the ranks to help, but there are many procedures that need to be taken into consideration in a club like this. A person must be nominated, seconded, the board must discuss and vote, then they can learn... so finding somebody with enough spare time is difficult, and then getting them there is also difficult. Then you also need to develop a system to ensure both people are not processing the same accounts etc etc. Oh, and they need to do that without being paid.

Banned user list... you would look for similarities in the application... anyways, you shouldnt underestimate the stupidity of the people who get themselves banned from a free online usergroup. Also the average person who becomes a banned user on forums like these wouldnt know how to change their IP... most people dont have fixed IPs anyways, so that is hardly a concern.

Did your email to Kirsty get sent to the spam bin?? If you had a poor description in your title, chances are she didnt even see it, and it went in the autospam with the rest of the viagra sales brochures.

So yeah, your posts to me sound like the equivalent of a homeless person complaining that they had to wait in line for their free soup, and then complain because they only had 2 flavours of soup available. Different story if you go to a posh restaurant and pay $100 for that soup.

Subject was professionaly suited to the purpose of the email and wouldnt of had any troubles with spam filters.

Im not having a go at staff im bringing up issues that really should be fixed.

And constantly throwing the "If you want be validated faster, pay us monies" card is not very professional.

Im sure there would be many loyal members here who would love to help out with the site and do a good job.

and the whole IP thing, most people know how to use a proxy site to get to youtube while there at school. and most of the people who would be immature enough to constantly want to sign up and spam etc would be school kids.

Maybe at your next "board meeting" someone could bring this situation up... like yea im already in the site why should i care? but the PMs im getting suggests alot of people are unhappy...

Didnt say that paying money would validate you faster. Just said that its not a wage earning task that is being done, so it needs to be juggled with family life. Heck, I paid my membership money on the Queens birthday long weekend. Havent complained about not being made a member yet (have asked a board member how the application is progressing... it is moving, just needs more time), so a bit of patience from the general public would be nice.

It seems there were only people getting upset since Kirsty did the house move... that would explain the backlog, and details going missing. My brother's application took less than a week (prior to the moving house saga)... but I did make sure he had all his details in order on the application, and that he promptly replied to the validation email. Other than that, his application went through the same processes as yours.

Also, the people who get kicked out of here may be childish, but they arent usually school kids (not the ones I have seen booted).

Oh, and the messages I am getting indicate that the board are overworked hombre's who need a break.

thats good because seeing as there is no staff it would be pretty pointless, no one gets paid for what they do behind the scenes to keep the forums and club running they do it in the spare time. i had a friend that waited a while before getting validated i sent kirsty a PM and it was sorted out within 10 minutes of her logging in and getting my message
