Whatever you've got now, you need to get a reasonably tall ratio to make the best of that 7M torque. Turbo engines love to be loaded up, it gets them on boost quicker. The 1st gear acceleration improved dramatically in my car when I swapped from 4.1 to 3.58:1.

If you want a 3.5 like Norbie, yes.

I think some manual RT142's had a 3.5 F series as well.

I'd personally go with 3.73 instead though.
I'd just assume the 2JZ would come on boost earlier than the 7M, especially if you upgrade the 7M turbo.

All the more reason to go higher gearing. Load = earlier boost = good.

With the W50 I thought that i could of even gone lower than 3.5 in the wagon maybe 3.2 or so with the GE it seemed to rev a bit hard on the hwy and 1st was usable but coud of been better. However now I'm glad to here the W58, 3.5 and GTE are going to be a great combination.

I know this is off the diff thing but I have a question for you CrUZida. The new bushes in the sub frame, did you have them made or are they an off the shelve item.

Handy hint: Don't try swapping ring gears over yourself unless you have a strong bench vice and/or a rattle gun. The bolts are torqued up REAL tight!

Found this out yesterday, thought i'd be able to muscle them (or use a hammer + ring spanner) but they are way too tight for that. Oh well, another day
