dont suppose anyone has a pic of an f series subframe so i can compare?
If you have 4 bolts in the top of the subframe, then its very possible you have an F-series subframe.
Be careful with the halfshafts too.
I needed to get my car rolling, so I whacked what ever I have available at the time in there.
F-series subframe, F-series diff, and T-series swingarms and halfshafts.
And the halfshafts were an inch (ish) too short.

Sodoes that mean that it's possible someone managed to get a T series diff in there somehow? they're very similarly sized but the mount points on top are differently spaced (the front 2 mainly)Originally Posted by CrUZida

Champion, I feel the love, looks like I'll have to do a little comparing tomorrow. Worst comes to worst and i have to change it, will just that big bit that youve pictured there Peewee fit into the other suspension bits (ie what JCMF has pictured) or do I have to change the whole lot over?

Stupid Rep limit wont let me rep Cruzida and JCMF again yet, but know I will when I can and I appreciate the help![]()

I've compared T series and F series swingarms before, and found then to be identical.
Never measured, just looked carefully.
T series arm's fit in F series subframe too.
The halfshafts however, are not the same as far as I could tell, never mentioned the length.
If you need some F-series halfshalts, I have a pair.

Thanks, but I have a couple of sets of half shafts (all part of the crap I bought cheap off JAZE before he went overseas). I might measure them up (T vs F) and see what the difference is just for fun!

Just had another awful thought, people who are running 4.1 ratios are always complaining about short gearing and I'd never noticed a problem, as my car sits happliy at 3200rpm at 110. Since it seems I have a T series and not the 4.1 F293 that I'm sposed to, is there any way of telling what ratio my T series diff is?

Given the stock tyres (225/60/14, diameter of 625mm), 0.783:1 W58 5th, 3200rpm, 110kph, and assuming your speedo is accurate, the T-series was a 4.3

And with a 7MGTE I'd be looking into a 3.73 diff.

Tyres are now 255/45/17, not sure total diameter. Speedo is reasonably accurate, have tested it alongside my 04 liberty. Tacho is displayed on SAFC, direct feed from ecu. I'd be surprised if it was a shorter ratio than 4.1, 1st gear isn't anywhere near as bad as people make out it should be at that ratio. Mind you the 7M revs hards than a 5M variant tooOriginally Posted by CrUZida

Given a rear tyre of 255/45/17 (660mm diameter), then you'd need a 4.6666 diff to be doing 3200 @ 110kph

6500rpm in first would be 52kph.

Hrm, interesting and weird 3.7 would certainly give me a helluva first gear then! Maybe something is out with my speedo or something
