D valve intake?

Isnt this the same as a decent size blow off valve next to the throtle body ?

My valve will allow air to be directly sucked in from atmosphere next to the throttle body

Justen ::: GT8 Hmmm, this is one i'd really have to see to believe. Even @ zero boost or even slightly below positive pressure a turbo is flowing more air than the engine in n/a would take so you'd think this would be a bigger advantage than drawing from atm?

So I'd assume there is another filter pre-turbo.. else you'd be sucking in crap all through your intake.. so two filters, no wonder he wants less intake restriction..

And ahh, how would an airbox cope with 20psi that he says hes running?

Look at the photos of the entire engine bay, it doesnt make sense...

mitchee i cant make sense of the photos either, i was just guaging wheather it would or should work, obviously a good intake is best and mine is as good as gets with a 180 degree bend in it due to the intake manifold, i might give it a go for testing purposes when i get my new engine built, it cant hurt.

This was my point, unless he is using the spring of the plastic to expand, hold more air and then provide another power surge when it returns to shape.
Either that or he hasn't started it and found the airbox explodes at 6psi

I THINK I've worked out his engine bay.

Its a non crossflow engine, turbo is at the back below inlet manifold.

Turbo sucks from air filter box then feeds forward to intercooler and enters it at bottom.

Feeds out at top past D valve and then a straight pipe to inlet manifold.

I believe the intake pipe passes through the airbox for packaging reasons, ie is sealed separate to it with the pipe just hooked on either side.

Well its the only way I can work it out, presume D valve is also linked back into airbox so it only sucks filtered air.

Bloody weird setup.
