LT10S will run a six cylinder engine with waste spark - a friend of mine has one on his RB30ET. The LT12S will allow individual coils and sequential injection but whether it's worth the extra money is debatable IMO.

AFAIK lots of people like Adaptronics. Seems like a really good price too. I just recommend Microleb because I use one and like it a lot

As Norbie says, wouldn't want to upgrade twice. 440's have been knock to make up to 295rwkw so they should be enough for the 480.

LT10s can run a 1jz but it is in waste spark setup. Rexnun runs one on his BIG single 1jz. Unsure if he is using the map I gave him at the moment?

I do think the 480 is a better option for a street driven 1jz. Should have enough to make around 300rwkw if you push it. And it makes sense for you having 440's and a walbro already. If you have an 044 and 650's then using the 560 would make more sense.

Stock ecu with safc should do you fine however if you do push the boost up then you may find that boost cut won't actually rise as you won't need to take any fuel out ie. stock ecu has 90% duty at 14psi with 380cc, If SAFC is left at zero then this will be the same. If you put+ve % in to add more fuel then boost cut actually drops. So you may need to wire in a FCD as well? That is a suck it and see type thing I reckon.

BTW don't want to follow my footsteps. Take for ever just to run a low 12

Well, my supplier has gotten back to me and i've changed for the 480 which i'm happy about! This way I can stick with the 440's. My replacement fuel filter just arrived, so that and the walbro will be going in on the weekend.

I'll see if i can get my old ECU back and sell the Mines, or alternatively if i can get a fully aftermarket setup... either Adaptronic or Microtech at a nice price then its always the best option. Norbie says $1100 for the LT10S with a waste spark setup! I like the sound of that

I have no idea how waste spark works except for the tiny bit of research that i've done... i beleive that it uses one coil per two cylinders? All sorts of questions arise regarding how the ECU differentiates between those two cylinders, and firing them at seperate times.

I'm nearly leaning towards to Microtech because of the massive resource I have here that are willing to give me good advice!

waste spark is one coil per 2 cylinders both firing at the same time. Haltech make good dual outlet coils (I was looking at them when I had the wolf 3d) apparently.

Sounds like a pretty good plan Apparently the adaptronic guy is really helpful as well. I got no issues in giving you my map though. It would probably be about dead on actually (except put in % correction for 440's to 550's).

You'll probably find this mines ecu was tuned originally for 440cc. I bet if you dropped in 440cc all the ratios would actually look like regular japanese tune, ie rich.

That also crossed my mind. I'll put it all in this weekend, then see if i can get it dynoed again. I don't think the 440's will cure that flat spot in the rev range though

As Chris said, a Wastespark setup is one coil per 2 cylinders. They do spark at the same time, but one is always on the exhaust stroke (obvioulsy the next time it fires, the roles of the cylinders is reversed and the other one is on exhaust). cast your mind back to the 7m days, that had a wastespark setup

If i was to get a LT10S and have it setup in waste spark mode, is there anything else i'd need to get... ie ignitors, coilpacks, leads etc? Or does the LT10S integrate with the standard 1J items?

lt10s comes with x4 igniter. I would think that you would just split the 2 signal wires to go seperate coils (negative wire) and run the 12v as per normal. I seem to remember something about using sequential setup coils in wasted spark not being so good for them heat wise? And then there was a bit of a debate as to if the 1j is even sequential anyway?

    Ask rexnun what he did

Or just grab 3 dual outlet coils or a coil pack from a 6 cylinder falcon. (about $80). Sell your stockers.

i just pmed you, but to inform some here aswell, get the lt12s with x 6box ignition module, get it wired and drive around ont eh base tune, it comes with a pretty good base tune allready programmed for the 1j. then when your bank accpunt allows it, put the single on and the injectors and get it tuned properly.

the problem with buying second hand injectors is you dont know what conditon they are like, if there spray pattern is is different or they dont flow within 1or 2% of each other you could well and truly lean out an engine and then your cheap injectors just got expensive.

with new injectors from places liek nengun and green line so cheap, its cheap insurance.

when i first bought 13b turbo injectors, we had to flow test 20 injectors to get 6 that flowed within 2% of each other.

440cc and 550cc injectors are getting old and worn out,

just some thing to think about peoples
