I'm on the Northside of Brissie.

Yeah it did feel like a surge after the flatspot (nothing...then everything!). And yeah I'm thinking electrical as well.
Previous owner did have some kind of overfuelling problem - here

The ticking I mentioned earlier was the TPS (first post edited).
After a bit of adjusting to the TPS, I've found that it has a massive effect on the behavior of th e engine. Flat spot is now almost all gone when free reving but starting becomes harder. I adjust it again so it will start, and then the flat spot comes back in a different place - FARK!
I'll be up all night at this rate!

And now I have no fucking spark!!

Fukdis - I'm going to bed.

hmmmm, to tell the truth my enigne sometimes doesnt spark either, like it will start then i turn it off to plug something in or what ever then it wont spark. but neway back to your problem.

i have a just cleaned set of injectors they are yours if u want them. just need the rubber rings and o rings.

mundoolun - there is no logical reason to put in a surge tank or lift pump as it just looks retarded and doesnt do anything more then the straight vl pump, im running this setup i only ever get stravation under 1/4tank as i take corners very hard. but i doubt this has anything to do with hulks problems atm.

135psi is pretty good.. most i've ever had is 125 over the last 3 engines :/

tps has been a problem for me also. tho i see no reason for it to 'tick' as its only a position switch. the problem i've had is the little lobe part wears out between the two prongs so that the idle mode comes off late and on deceleration its doesnt always hit idle mode. also im thinking you may have the wrong position sensor? whats the numbers say on the sticker? should be 1.5, 20 from memory. theres also a number on the plastic bit inside .. something like 18.5? anyways take the black plastic cover off and see what the switches are doing.. on idle it should be contacting the top switch and it should disconnect the switch as soon as you start moving the throttle.. but dont have it so close that it doesnt go on idle mode... you'll notice the revs drop when it goes on idle mode.. also the ticking rate of the injectors halfs. if the idle switch takes too long to disengage you'll have a big hesitation when you get back on the gas.
if the lobe is worn it makes things worse.. i ended up wrapping a piece of icecream container lid around the lobe to take up the slack
if you have a 1.5,40 or 1.5,50 tps then its off a 2tgeu or other engine and could be causing funny running? what does the second switch do anyways?

Second switch I believe is load (bottom switch)

Sticker on TPS says 1.5, 20 and inside is 18.5. I noticed that they are in degrees. Hmmmm.

Could someone take their TPS cover off for some comparison pics?

    - IDLE

    - Light throttle

    - WOT

The black thing is a bit of plastic I put in there to get rid of the freeplay in the lobe.

Yep, it has to some degree when I adjust the angle of it.

OK - we have spark - yay!
I must have blown the 15 amp "engine" fuse in the orig TA22 fuse box while testing things. (Stupid nooooob).

Having adjusted the TPS to help the flat spot has now left me with another problem: Overfuelling then stalling. Sound familiar?

Thanks for all your help so far guys.
I have dropped the car off at the Auto Elec Shoppe this morning. Should have the results tommrow. Stay tuned ...........

hey mate just reading the thread just check that each plug is working cause i know for a fact that if one lead or plug is not working proply it screws the whole operation just check each plug one by one. the boost pressure could be blowing out your spark. maybe check your coils check that there is nothing loose or any wireing that looks like its earthing out or burnt. this could be causing the inconsistant flat spots and such. it sounds definatly around spark and fuel

    OK guys. All sorted!

Broken joins inside the ECU. They have now been resoldered and the car runs BETTER than when I bought it. - WOOOOOT!
