nah if that was the case it would be fairly easy. cut bell and weld to 154 bell.
the 154 runs the same input spline as a w58.
i want to retain a w series bell, push type clutch, flywheel and starter as i already have it.
just want an adapter to go between a w bell and an r154 box as you cant buy an off the shelf bell for an S series or a lot of other rwd engines.

the other thing is if somebody is sick of blowing w5x boxes then they can just buy the adapter, an r154 and a tailshaft and its job done .no need to change al the good bits you already have ie lightened fly/big clutch.
    cheers

Should be fairly easy to make Linden.

32mm bit of alloy the shape of the R154 centre case.
Countersink all the bolts so that when alloy bolted to R154 they at least sit flush with the surface.
Drill and tap W5x centre case layout to alloy block.
    Bolt W5x bellhousing to it.

I'd probably be interested in one if it only comes out to a couple of hundred $.
I do forsee broken W5x's in my future.

Oh, and if you need an accurate drawing of an R154 bolt pattern vs a W5x bolt pattern, get any CRS W5x bellhousing that also has an R15x partner.

With my CRS 1UZ/W5x bellhousing, you can see most of the where the cut out for the R154 is. Match this up to a CRS 1UZ/R15x bellhousing, and you'll have perfect matches.

(btw, the above link is a 1UZ/W5x bellhousing, and the above image is a 1UZ/R15x bellhousing...)

kinda on the same topic but not worth making a thread for,

if i got a bellhousing from a R151 gearbox, will it fit the R154 gearbox? in particular im talking about a 3rz 4wd bell going on a r154

i am assuming so, much like W55,6,7,8 interchangeability but just want to make sure

if its for an r series you should be able to get someone to cut a plate to the desired thickness and drill the desired pattern then run longer bolts and you'll be sorted.
dont forget to run a second set of dowels or you may run into alignment probs.

CRS do the adapter plates. I've got one done myself and one for a mate, it was at least 4 years ago now so I can't remember how much it cost. The bolt holes don't all line up from memory and the adapter plate should also be dowled to original W5X bellhousing. You can't afford to be more than 2-3thou out or you'll munch you input shaft bearing, spigot and have disengagment issues.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if you were to make one of these and it was a Gearbox to Bellhousing adapter, rather than Bellhousing to Engine adapter, you could also use one of these to put a W5x Gearbox onto a Bellhousing designed for a R154...

If that is correct, then I think these would sell well to the people wanting 2JZ-GE Bellhousing for their 1 and 2JZ conversions...

    Won't work that way sorry.
It only works because the R154 input shaft is ~32mm longer than the W5x input shaft.

To use an R154 bellhousing on a W5x box you'll have to remove 32mm from the bellhousing (plus the thickness of the adaptor plate), or increase the length of the input shaft.

What this plate does let you do though, is bolt an R154 to engines such as the 3T, 3S, 1G, etc
