Default Which Wire goes Where: Ign Barrel AExx

    Hi.

1: I have an AE101 Ign Barrell and I want to change it out to an AE9x SX one. I just have to Repin it. They guy who did my convo did this for me at the time but I want to change it back. I have the haynes manual for the AE9X and it says what colours come out and what they do, but it does not show me the position of the pins.

Has anyone got diagrams that show the position of the colours for each pin in the AE101 and the AE9X barrell. FYI, the clip is a different shape between the two of them.

2: I noticed on the 4age diagram there is a R-W line that tees into the brake light wire and it goes to the ECU (batt). What does this do? Would it matter if it has not been added in my car?

Well as you turn the key the first thing will be stereo and so forth so just find what circuit all that is on. Next one is ign power ie fuel pump, computer, and windows etc and once again find that circuit and hook it up. Finally the last one will be starter motor.

Thanks LeeRoy, but there are more wires than there are pins and I am not confident to do that. I found the SX clip has the wire functions moulded into it and if the AE101 clip had it too, it would be easy. Now all I need is the AE101 clip diagram with functions on it.

Also a side note: The AE90 SE has different colour wires coming from the body side of the Ign Barrel Clip than the SX ones...

    Hi all.

I have AE101 Ign barrell in my car and AK wired it to my body loom of the SE. I now have an SX IGN barrell that I am going to fit. I looked at the symbols where the pins go into the plug and they seem almost all straightforward.

The 101 barrell has no exposed wires on the barrel side. My SE loom is just pinned straight into the plug. I have a bit of cut SX loom on both sides of the SX plug.

So I was just going to unpin the SE Body loom from the 101 plug and pin it into the matching symbol pins on the SX plug (if that makes sense.)

What I want to know is what is ST2 and why does my SE loom not have a pin to go in there?
