Thanks for the moral support guys, im hanging in.

I have some positive news on the clunk, i don't believe its engine related, it has to be something else. (flywheel_clutch / engine mount / gearbox / suspension)
Ok, im hearing and feeling a lot of mechanical drivetrain type clunks simply when the car is rolling. I can feel the clunk through pedals, and the gear shifter, and just about everything else. When i reproduce the main rattle/clunk around 5000rpm, i can sustain the clunk with the accelerator, clutch in, shift to neutral, clutch in/out does not affect clunk at all anyway (the car is simply rolling in neutral now), and if i simply apply a light brake force, the noise instantly disappears. Lifting back off the brake, the noise returns instantly. and so forth. this all occurs "without loading the engine up", so the throttle remains where it needs to be to hold revs around 5000 +- 1000rpm and the clunk dissappears and returns simply by brake on, brake off.
I'll do this experiment again, bringing the car to a complete halt.
Ive also booked an appointment with my bank tomorrow at 2pm. Im gona see if i could add $20,000 onto a home loan to buy a new car. Fuck it. Would you believe this roller is my first and only car, it used to by my mum's. Had it about 6 years.
Cheers ppl
