thats strange, my gze had air con but it was mounted low and the altenator was mounted high.
Alot of ppl use 4afe brackets. so you night want to have alook into that.
Hi everyone,
I need some idea on how to mount the alternator on the 4agze in rwd configuration. Mine is currently running stock bracket with alternator at the bottom and aircon compressor on top. I want to get rid of the aircon compressor because it been causing me a lot of grief as the aircon pulley doesn't exactly line up with the crank pulley(out by a few mm) causing the belt to slip off.
I really appreciate some pictures of how people mount the alternator on their ze.
Thank you
Tom

if you dont want the aircon just leave the alternator mounted low and run the belt on the wrong side of the tensioner. this is how myself and many others are doing it.
i used a starlet bracket with a custom tensioner, i'll get some pics for you

I removed my air con, power steering and ran the alternator down low as standard and it hit the ke70 swap bar mount, Needed custom brackets and shorter belt.
i just used the standard lower bracket but added some pipes as a spacer, nothing flash but has been working for 5 years so far![]()
What did you mean when you said running belt on the wrong side of the tensioner? did you mean running a ribbed side of the belt on the tensioner pulley?Originally Posted by EVOSTi

I thought more about it today I think I might be able to put some sort of spacer behind the bracket to make the pulley line up.
