The headers on my mr2 are still shiny silver 3 years after I painted them..

Perhaps the red is no good?

i wouldnt expect the 5 or so seconds it takes for me to get out and pop the bonnet after a hard run would be enough to lose enough temp to drop down from a red-hot temperature?

drive along the freeway hold it wot for 30secs with your foot on the brake then pull over imediatly, trust me your turbo will be glowing and theres a fair chance your brakes will be too.

ps dyno is probably a safer place to do it just do a long pull.

i got my turbo rear housing and manifold done in ceramic coating with the white on the inside and black on the outside from Competetion Coatings in kelmscott and it works pretty well hey and i get that bastard stinking hot now its not realy black anymore its like dark brown in places but that becuase ive taken that manifold and turbo off so many times and your ment to wash it before you start it and i never did so when it gets hot its burns were you have been touching.
that silver shit does look pretty but i think the black and white stuff works better.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.

If that paint can't do it, I doubt any paint could.

meh.. maybe it's just me but if teh red don't work, no colour would. then again I know others who have done the same thing with their headers, painted them up red but not done the same preparation, and it's just ended up burning right off, so who knows.

How does it stand up to brake cleaner spray? It stripped the VHT straight off a set of calipers I painted a while ago...

I've seen a few sets of pacemakers where the blue is looking a bit sad after a while - the pipes don't go rusty, but they lose their blue appearance.
