hey hey, Gary's back! long time no see bud...

I remember that ST205 being in a fairly sick condition last time I saw it and you were gathering enough cash for the rebuild. also the time I brought you that Jap-spec 205 ECU to plug in and test on your ride... damn that was a rush! ok so you couldn't quite squeeze the PSI you wanted out of it... how's the knock sensor btw?

I've heard Power FC's for the SW20/ST205 aren't easy to come by either, thought about a different aftermarket ECU?

Steve, porting and polishing is a good idea for the exhaust but not for the intake. Porting only is best there as the rough surface helps with the air/fuel mix atomisiation and better combustion. I had that done for my 3S-GTE.

yeah that night was a fun little run, granted i did need to replace the knock sensor after it but hey such is life.

I found a power fc on ebay i few weeks ago but it sold the same day it was listed.

ok so im almost ready to get this build going, just started ordering parts and im gonna hold off on pulling the donk out till i have everything cause i cant have the car stripped and just sitting in the workshop doing nothing but waiting on stuff to arrive.
    Last few questions i got:
Twin plate clutch under $1700 if possible does anyone have any contacts not hugely fussed on brand.
Full gasket set genuine is about $300 is there anything after market thats decent that may be a little better priced
And lastly does anyone know a good alternative to Eagle Rods price is the only issue i have with these.
Trying to get this build done on a budget is a pain

The 205 rods adequately prepped will handle the power you want to make. They are a hell of a lot heavier though so will put a lot more stress on the rest of the components.

The Eagles are pretty much as cheap as aftermarket rods get.

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/H-Beam-Rods-T...QQcmdZViewItem

both are half the price of eagle rods, im just not sure what to do.
The weight difference was 1 of the main reasons i wanted aftermarket rods, otherwise i could just get the current ones shotpeened and balance etc

I remember when we were pulling apart my 205 cut that the rods were damn heavy compared to the Eagle rods which came as a part of the rebuild kit I got. The 205 rods were like about 1.5x the weight of the Eagles, but the Eagle rods still did me well.

its prolly best you pm me roughly what you're after for it as rather not throw an aimless figure at you and unwillingly insult you.

Anyone have any thoughts on the 2 sets of rods i posted above
