Its probly an oil catch can and would run back into the intake somewhere. Alot of people run that hose down where yours is, but its not legal, depends if you like 100% legal or defectable.
hi again i am just wondering if any of you guys or gals with 2tg's in ta 22's mainlycan send me some pics of engine bays mainly to see throttle choke set up and oil line from tappet cover ideas as mineoil line goes straight down on to bell housing i have only been able to find one pic of 2tg in the rally car it has some kind of stainless box that the oil line seems to go in to it does not show much detail on how the box works though any pics will help as my motor has only been in for 4 weeks

What set up do you have?
As for throttle linkages, i use a push bike brake cable instead of the metal linkages.
For the choke, i have disconnected mine. You can use an early corolla choke knob attached to a coat hanger that lets you slide the chokes open and close.
On standard original setups on the 2T-G, the valve cover breather pipe connects back to the intake unit, but if you have the Lynx Ramflow filters, the pipe simply connects to either one those. I just use a piece of plastic hose that points down towards the dizzy because i run ram tubes with socks.
The valve cover breather hole can be connected to a oil catch can or simply return it to the blocks breather on the side, or/with the combination of the catch can too.
In some race setups they offset the upper timing chain inspection plate to a boxed unit and return the pipe there with the combination of catch can.
