get someone to spin the crank by hand while you look through the inspection covers, x-treme put a part number on all of their clutch covers.

that clutch is an extreme, paint colour is theres anyway. probably just a h/d replacement maybe with a ceramic cluth plate. some ppl have luck with them but the first one i put in slipped on the first lap so i never bother to go backjust bought one from my normal supplier. (25000km old clutch slipped in practice so we changed to the extreme at the track as they had one on thier stand).

its not an extreme cover its the factory one reco'ed and the sticker doesnt last to long.
ah, my bad, i dunno what the factory cover looks like, mine came from japan in the halfcut as a TRD unit.

thats cool , thats why ppl are here to learn from others and their experiences.![]()
same colour as mine if that means anything, i believe my clutch is a 6-puck carbonic, i have the receipt at home from when i bought the car. ill see if that has anymore info.
needlesss to say though i like mine, its not too hard to drive, and seems to hold fine at my power level. ill update when i get home and hunt around for the receipt.
Yeah yeah, this is the answer!Originally Posted by The Real Roadrunner

Twin / multiplate clutch's can have a rattly sounds when disengaged

Dam this thread went awol and I didn't even know!
Awesome! thanx for the help guys! So likely its a rebuilt stock pressure place with some kind on ceramic friction plate, possible mulitpucked...
Cool well I think I have found my new clutch now any how. I don't think a single plate will do the job
Cheers!
Are those bolts painted? Seems like they painted it on the car?
nope just covered in clutch dust.![]()
hmmm found the receipt for my clutch, i didn't get this done so not sure on specifics but basically it says
grind mod cover $272.73
TYD124B button clutch plate $336.36
GSB1020 release bearing $72.73
x F/W STEP-10" W/DWLS $36.36
as i said, i was told its a 6-puck carbonic number, but can't confirm without pulling it apart ! it drives nicely though, can slip a little bit, engagement doesn't have to be harsh unless you want it to be, and combined with short-shifter, and redline lwsp my shifts are lovely and quick.
off the top of my head id say its a xtreme clutch kit, uprated factory cover, standard flywheel and a solid center ceramic puck style disc. i remember driving it and stalling the fucker several times, it felt to me like either a solid center puck or a solid center unsprung ceramic button.
The flywheel will no doubt be toast by now, depending on your hp goals the whole lot might be throw away. the cover minus the friction pad and the disc center might be reusable but they are the cheapest parts anyway.
