AE86 Car Audio wiring, re: Head unit plug

i find that a test-light is all you really need for head unit installs

one for the 12V, one to test accessory power, possibly another one for the dimmer (to park lights).. and the rest are speakers

Ok that is helpful, as I don't really need a new multimeter until I order my Megasquirt. I can't read resistor bands for shit, plus I need one around the house anyway and for the workshop at uni.

if your going to put a megasquirt together im 99% sure you would be able to workt eh wires out with a mutlimeter. when i did an install in a sprinter that had a completely cut loom so i had to trace everything it took about an hour but seeing as you already have the colours to match up i reckon you could have the HUs swapped over in half an hour.

I picked up a cheap Pioneer unit for about $135 from JB's the other day to use. It looks pretty good!
