As I said, my car was doing exactly the same thing. I was worried it was the wiring but it wasn't the wiring in the end.

injectors have rubber rings around the base where they sit into the head, the chemical that the treat engines with in japan corrodes and denatures rubber and rubber compunds so often those seals are stuffed on import engines. you can hear if you have an air leak anywhere by listening, it should sound like a small high pitched sucking noise, drop the idle way down and you can usually hear them better. Make sure you have an efi fuel pump in your car as well if it was originally carby. a dodgy fuel pump might cause some problems, or a badly wired one. Also make sure all your fuel pump and efi relays are in order.

Oops. let me clarify. My 1G-gen3 is in my ra28. I have not hooked up the CEL. I have the standard loom, modified slightly to suit the ra28. Do most people hook up the CEL wires to the dash light on their conversion cars? If so, do you just pick up the wire from the ECU and route that to the dash?

whats your base timing set at? Could be off, maybe when you chaged the rotor/cap on the dizzy? Ive hear of this sort of thing happening when the timing is way off. Could also be a fuel pump problem like someone else said, not enough fuel pressure perhaps
