Default Oil Pressure Senders & JZ Series Engines

Were any JZ series engines ever released with an oil pressure gauge (rather than a switch)?

Reason for the question: my good old 5MGE & analogue instrument cluster has an oil pressure gauge, but the JZ has a switch. Unfortunately the sender unit from the 5MGE is physically too large to fit on the JZ block (threads are the same, but due to bits of the webbing on the block there just isn't enough room to make it fit). So I have two choices:
    a) get a short bit of braided hose & some couplings to 'remote mount' my existing oil pressure sender (possible but not really that nice)
    b) If the answer to my question above is yes - get one of those senders, because I know it'll fit in the tiny space toyota have allowed for it.

Any info would b greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Peter

can you get just an adapter to space it away from the block a little like a brass fitting

i think all are oil light as there is not much room for an oil pres gauge sender

i have fitted a gauge sender but u need a 45 degree brass adapter and maybe an extension

either wway u have to pull half the shit off left hand side to get to it

Thanks guys. I'm a little concerned about possible fatigue issues with using solid extensions (with the weight of the sender hanging off it). It seems like I'm unlikely to get a sender that fits, so a 'remote mount' of the sender seems the go.

Even easier. The bolt that holds the sandwich oil cooler is hollow. Unbolt. Tap that to the thread of your oil pressure gauge sender. Refit. Hook the oil pressure switch up to a bright LED so it works as a warning light. Send GT beer.

This is how they do it on the GS300.

GT - I think we have a winner!
Bloody good idea and now you mention it I think I have seen some threads about doing this in the past. Good idea about using the switch as well.
Beer for you - waiting here in WA.

    Thanks

Yah $107 (not trade) when I checked.

Taking it to the local engineering shop - $10 - 20 if he really wants to ping you.

since GT is unable, im willing to accept all free beer on his behalf, they will be treated well on the way in, not too well on way out (park/side of road/tree/etc)
