    Default back seat modification

ok so I tend to drive to mates houses and end up having a drink or two to be social as everyone does. After I don't feel to safe driving home as im on my P's and want to keep them. So just cause I can and would use it probably alot I am wanted to convert my back seat into a sort of fold out bed moving the fuel tank into the spare wheel cavity, chopping the crossing metal between back of seat and boot. Thus allowing me to use my car as a make shift station wagon. So its a TA22 and with the proper planing and a custom seat I can see this happening even if it won't be easy should be an experience to say the least. Has anyone looked into moving thier fuel tank into the spare tyre cavity if so how much did the custom tank cost? Secondly after I chop the supporting metal I need to add extra support to replace the structral integrity I would loose. . . any ideas? <---- i got to do this without hindering the seat or ability to lie through the car im only aiming for enough room for one to sleep comfortably as i can''t go any wider then the suspension mounts. So any ideas
oh also does anyone have the actual dimensions of the rear end of a celica 76 TA22 interior?

im pretty sure u can buy circular fuel tanks but i cant remember where i seen them, spose u can always get one made up, but then where are u gonna keep ur spare tyre?
maybe a drop tank would be a better idea? why not buy an ra28 back seat folds down already, dunno how much room there would be tho.

Such a bad idea. Youd have to get it engineered, etc. move LOTS of stuff around.

Maybe get yourself a wagon instead? Hiace? Surf Hilux?

How bout you crash at your mates place?

You could do it if you really wanted too. Cars get frickin cold at night too. Get yourself a small 12V heater.

Buy a swag. A lot cheaper, and warmer! And just as flexible in terms of location

I once tried to sleep in the back of my RA28 by folding the back seat down... its ok if your short or want to sleep curled up into a ball. Also, with the seat folded down, the surface isnt perfectly flat...
