It wasn't an unreliable shell. I was working on all the running gear and engine before I worked on cosmetics and other features. I had replaced the diff with a recon, replaced all suspension with new parts, built the new motor, found a good gearbox and installed it, went through 5 steering boxes to find a good replacement. I replaced sway bars, a bent pan-rod arm, lights, starter motor, alternator, had tyres with 70% tread. Installed the brake RA upgrade, and made sure my handbrake worked and worked well. I was just getting through the small issues with the engine before I began restoring the shell with rust removal and a respray. The cop was just an arsehole. I'm in the process of obtaining a new shell to put it in actually. Aswell as transferring my other upgrades and modifications.
Hmmm the 4-2-1's are awesome compared to even the 4-1's i used to have installed. considering I didn't ever have the standard 2tg I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the cranks sorry. The jets may be part of my fuel issue so I hadn't yet experimenting with new better jets got pulled off the road before everything was completely ironed out. Does the intake make a difference in the accelerator make much difference compared to what? I'm not sure what your asking me to compare it with.

Fair enough, it's good you where doing the right thing but bad that the cop didn't see it that way.

Sorry I thought you've played with the intake since you had the 4-1's. What I should've said was since both the carby's share the intake path through the pod filter, does that increase throttle response? compared to both carby's having separate filters if you ever had it set up that way?.

unfortunately I haven't ever had individual carbie filters so again i wouldn't be able to inform you on the differences

Guy's, Ive read all the posts in various chats and cant find any reliable information.
I am going to stroke my 2tg with the 3tgeu crank etc, have all that worked out with electronic dis etc.
My question is every runs the 2tg flywheel, is every one running the standard weights?
If they are lightening them what is the best weight to use to not loose too much weight but to still get good pick up.

Your flywheel should match the weight of your car. If I was to keep the car standard for a daily driver then I would just take a bit off the 2T-G flywheel, but if I intend to go all out race spec and gut the interior to save some weight then I would be going for some thing around the 3.9/4.2kg.
    4.2kg is streetable btw.

If you do a search on "lightening a flywheel" this will be one of the topics that will explain a lot of what you are looking for:

I went from a lightened 7kg flywheel to a CrMo 3.5kg flywheel. Its by far the single best mod i've done. The car has so much more pickup then before. It really isn't much harder to drive either. My girlfriend didn't notice the drivability change when she drove it but she did notice the extra acceleration

I'm looking at the possibility of getting some high comp 3tc pistons for my hybrid, originally had a site that was located in the states i was gonna purchase from but since our dollar has gone to crap does anyone know of any AUS places that sell them, ive looked through the wiseco and arias catalouge and they do stock them and could probably get them through a store down here but just interested to know if there are any other places that sell them?
Also just a quick question, would high comp pistons be as effective as shaving the head/block for the same type of compression or is it frowned upon for some reason?

Have read the posts and it is all good advice, but then I thought, I will be using a 3tgte crank which has more counterweights then the 3tcrank. Any one used that crank in this set up before. I know if you read this and work out that, but at the end of the day if some one else has done it and it hauls arse, why do anything differant?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looking through the pics of your engine build further back, it looks like you left out the long curved chain guide from the cylinder head. I am just looking through this thread for the first time and I thought "that cannot be right". You could not have gotten the cam timing correct by leaving a that part out and fitting it later.

I am going to have a little look-see through your other thread now and see what has happened. Sorry to hear that you've had a failure.

210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

oh its all good mate it is in there. plus I've rebuilt the engine now unfortunately had fuel issues so never goto take it over 5000RPM well 5500 really, but i stayed under 5 to be safe. The shell it was in was defected so I had to pull it out and sit t under cover for a few months. However I have aquired a new shell, and now I am documenting my build of that and my engine will be be its power house . If you want to watch the progress on that the thread is "Nato's TA22". Thanks for the interest in the engine tho seems my threads been hijacked by flywheel wieghts.
