go with the torque settings on the gasket packaging. If you don't have the package, contact the gasket manufacurer, they will know what suits their gasket best.

hello it's a cometic gasket and didnt have the torque setings on the pack and all the web site said was use stock bolt torque as well but do steel gaskets need more to seal them? if stock paper one is 47ft pound whats a stock steel gasket torque up to??? i'm incline to put 70ft pound into them from my old stinky v8 days but will that distort the aluminum head??? any 3sgte owners out there ever poped head bolts?

Cylinder head bolt torque is usally relative to the deisgn of the head and block. NOT the gasket.
    So follow standard specs.

Also if you went to 70 ftlb's there's are fair chance you could strip or break the bolt's., & or stretch them beyond their yield which would severly weaken them and they would actually long term possibly loose some of their tension on your head gasket ( The diameter of the bolt would waste down, IE get thinner because they are over stretched so in effect you are torqueing your head down with a thinner bolt than standard.. )....Stick to standard head bolt spec's ....
