hmm, if you can take or have a pic directly on the end of the dowelled cams, i can try to measure it....

this same principle applies to practiclly all the g headed engines ive seen

the g heads have 3 holes in the cam gears, and 3 holes in the cam itself. you can vernier as OC has outlined above. this exactly what i did with the 7mge years ago. i have it all plotted out on greasy paper somewhere.

so for fine tuning as Ed says. and yes, it's not new and many people already know how to do it

i can't remember if K motors had it stock... used to also be for adjusting for cam chain stretch.

would be interesting to get pics of different gears and cams and ppl can know exactyl how much they are changing it...

the instructions for belt stretch managment dictate only usin the cam gear holes to allow for a bit of extra slop... NOT the cam holes themselves to give vernier increments through use in combination... i guess toyota decided it would get too confusing to include in the workshop manual

of course, 90 percent of people buy bling cam wheels for the bling, they wouldn't know cam timing if someone adjusted it on a dyno for them, it produced more usable power then somehow jumped out and bit them in the face!

they are expensive though arent they

ok well this doesn't really help much (in regards to getting people to realise they don't need the bling) but i got bored last night and started playing in solid edge making some adjustable cam gears. basically, they're made without any measurements, so they aren't for any purpose, but if someone gave me some measurements for a set of gears, i could adjust/redraw them to suit.

in any case, the picture still looks sexy
